Huawei aims $50 billion in 2019

Huawei consumers BG shared its 2014 annual operating performance in the recently held global analyst conference, as well as the market strategies of its consumer business in the future after achieving of $10 billion revenue. The chief of Huawei Consumer Business marketing strategy department Shao Yang said, Huawei Consumer Business achieved breakthrough of $10 billion revenue for the first time in 2014, which was by the growth of its smartphone, home devices and MBB business. Huawei will focus on the smartphones in the future, and build a whole scene smart life including wearable devices, Smart Home, App Cloud, Data Cloud, automatic driving and others to unify the user experiences. The revenue goal of device business is set as $50 billion in 2019, by which time Huawei will enter into the first camp of global mobile phone brands and become a preferred brand of consumers.
According to Huawei’s introduction, its Consumer Business revenue reached $12.2 billion in 2014, with a year-on-year increase of 30%; the overall smartphone shipments reached 75 million in 2014, taking 6% of the market share with a year-on-year increase of 45%. Up to now, the shipments of Mate7 and P7 exceeded 4 million and 6 million, respectively. In 2014, the smart home devices and MBB products both ranked in the top place in the industry with shipments of 27 million and 34 million, respectively.
At the same time, data shows that the shipments of Huawei high-end smartphones increased rapidly in Q1 2015, accounting for 34% of all its shipments with a year-on-year increase of 770%. In addition, the outbreak of high-end smartphones in January 2015 drived its shares to reach 11.5% in China market, exceeded Samsung and Apple. Mate7 has become the best-selling high-end smartphone above 3000 yuan level for Huawei.
With the beginning of intelligent connections in all the fields including our work and daily life, the smart devices have entered into the whole scene age. Shao Yang said that Huawei would build a smart hardware system centered by the smartphones, containing wearable devices, Smart Home and Smart Car device solutions, by integrating the high-quality experience of Huawei EMUI, Huawei will build a more beautiful whole scene experience with the industry partners through its open, cooperative and win-win smart consumer data platform to become an industry leader in the whole scene smart life field.
For the rapid growing China smartphone market, the President of Huawei China Consumer Business Zhu Ping said in an interview with C114, the shipments of Huawei smartphones reached 40 million in 2014 in China market, and this number is expected to exceed 50 million in 2015.
